Day and half-day retreats

In-person retreat days in the heart of the South Downs

Gentle yet deep yoga, meditation and restful yoga nidra, complemented by therapeutic quality essential oils, to reconnect you to your body, still your mind and make space.

I offer regularly mini-retreats (half or full day) at Milland Memorial Hall near Liphook and Rebalance Pilates & Yoga Studio in Hambledon (between Portsmouth and Petersfield).

I’m also planning to hold some pop-up retreat days over the next few months in different venues, so let me know if you have any suggestions!

I keep numbers for these events intentionally low so they tend to sell out quickly.

I had only ever done ‘yoga at home’ before, [during] lock-down. Helen’s workshop was a total eye-opener. We all tend to spend most of our waking hours ‘in our heads’. When we consciously reconnect to our body, we ground ourselves, giving our minds permission to stop, to be still. We make space for our Self.

I choose intimate venues and keep numbers intentionally low to ensure that each mini-retreat offers a tranquil, peaceful experience for all participants.

Whether you’re a regular at my yoga classes, haven’t been for ages or have never managed to attend any of them, a Make Space mini-retreat is the perfect way to press pause on your life for a few hours, making time to breathe, to be still and to (re)connect with your Self.

A Make Space day or half-day retreat is also a great way to spend some time with me if you’re considering working with me on a 1:1 basis to create lasting change in your life.

All Make Space retreat days offer a carefully curated balance of movement and stillness, of sound and silence, of awareness and deep, deep rest. They all include:

    • Gentle exploration of yoga asana (postures), suitable for all levels of experience and none
    • Silent sitting (meditation)
    • Deep rest through yoga nidra (aka yogic sleep)
    • High quality essential oils

In addition…

    • Make Space for stillness half-day retreats include extra focus on breath awareness and other meditative practices (which may also include movement)
    • Make Space for movement half-day retreats allow for a deeper exploration of specific asanas (yoga postures)
    • Full day retreats include both of the above plus an opportunity to explore an aspect of yoga philosophy

All One Step Forward retreats days are suitable for anyone who’s interested in taking time to reconnect and make space, with or without previous yoga experience.

Private and group retreat days

In addition to my public Make Space retreat days I also work with small groups of friends or colleagues to create a bespoke, retreat-style experience at a time and place of their choosing. This can be a wonderful alternative to a spa day if you are looking for a conscious, connected way to celebrate a special birthday, forthcoming wedding or other milestone.
